Jared Cady was born in Puyallup, Washington, October 30th, 1985 to Ron and Nora Cady. He grew up with his two older brothers North and Sky in Graham.
In a hunting and fishing family he quickly became enthralled with the great outdoors. He played premier soccer in highschool and college but when it came to a career, fishing won out, hands-down. Every spring, he and his dad were out on the water opening day. And every fall they were out hunting elk and mule deer.
Over the years he began to display not only talent, but a peculiar gift for reading water and playing fish, as well as stalking elk. His skill with a fly rod became a point of conversation among friends and relatives. After highschool he attended South Puget Sound Community College.
In 2004 Jared went to work in West Yellowstone, Montana for the summer. There he was able to sell some of his own hand tied flies on the street corner and he met Bob Jacklin of Jacklin's Fly Shop. After several summers in Montana, Jared learned the ins and outs of the guide service business. He has since then become an excellent guide, leading numerous trips around Yellowstone and Western Washington.
With hundreds of hours of experience at the fly-tying desk, Jared has learned the best combinations of over forty different types of hair and feathers. On the river, Jared implements a variety of teaching methods to best serve his clients. He loves working with kids and is a patient and effective teacher for fishermen of any age. In the off season Jared ties flies for local shops while running his business, Get'm Dry Fishing Company.
